Author: Durjoy Datta
Review: This book starts with Deb and Avantii on a trip. I love the way the author has described the background. I can’t say a very hooking start.
Getting into the review, Avantika is an ambitious go-getter the exact opposite of Deb, a corporate professional turned failed writer turned scripter of saas-bahu serials.
Avanti and Deb were together for 10 years. Avanti wants to take a step ahead in their marriage with kids but Deb doesn’t want them, as he feels that Avanti is enough and there is no need for a third person. While Avanti opposes this idea.
This book is about a couple who want to have kids in their marriage. It shows the struggles of the couple, who can’t get pregnant naturally and need the assistance of clinical methods.
The side characters provide good support for the plot. And those are the ones who create fun and make your reading time worthwhile.
While reading this book, you will feel like you can actually see this in your real life. Maybe because this book has elements of the author’s personal experience.
This book also shows the frustration of a daily serial script writer, which is very funny to read. The conversations between Shrey, Avanti, and Deb are fun to read.
The thing I liked the most was… Deb’s character isn’t misogynistic. He doesn’t feel bad when his wife is the breadwinner of the family. And Avanti doesn’t feel bad about Deb not being the breadwinner of the family. And stands by his side if anyone taunts him.
The best part is… I like how the author made Avanti’s character strong but not arrogant. Also, my favorite character is Shrey. Everyone has this one friend who is very annoying but caring. This book wouldn’t be so fulfilling without Shrey.
This book is an average read for me compared to his other books. I feel his other books are a lot better than this one. This one didn’t make as much of an impression as his other books have.
If anyone is looking to read books that resemble real-life events, this is for them.
My rating: 6.5/10
