The Monk who Sold his ferrari

Author: Robin Sharma

Review: Julian, the most successful lawyer, possesses everything the world can offer. Name, Fame, money, status, success, and luxury. And his achievements are his pride. Life gave him a wake-up call when his health deteriorated. Julian started to feel out of balance. He went on an odyssey of undiscovered parts of life.

Instead of writing about Julian’s journey, the author lets Julian narrate his story to his co-worker and his only friend about his remarkable journey. I prefer a narrator narrating his own story to someone else’s. Because it makes you a full-fledged listener. Here, author Robin turns you into a listener instead of a reader. When you read a story, you ought to forget it after a certain period of time, but when you listen, you will want to take down the things you learned and put them into your daily life habits. That’s where the beauty of this book lies.

After his odyssey, Julian returns to his world from the Himalayas to sell all his possessions. In them, his Ferrari is the first one. For a man like Julian, selling his Ferrari means leaving behind his arrogance, jealousy, anger, and all the negative emotions he felt in his 53 years of life.

This is my first personality development book, and it also took me a long time to finish. Not because it’s boring but because the stuff I read took time to digest.

If you are looking to make a change in your habits that can have positive results for your future, this is for you.

Would I re-read this? Of course, yes!

My Rating: 9/10
