It’s the time when everyone returns to their warm nest, called home. Some walk, some ride bicycles, some ride two-wheelers, some ride four-wheelers, and some take public transport. Despite all this, they reach their houses in the end. How beautiful.
After the institute, I and my anna started going home on our little Activa. This Activa is responsible for taking us back and forth from our home to other places. It bears us more than my parents. (hehe)
And again this Activa was taking us back home. The winter nights were a lot colder than normal for us due to the ride on this two-wheeler. The air entered my ears and nose, making me shiver. The cold air intruded on me through my clothing. Even the jacket wasn’t helping.
Covering my ears with my hoodie to control the flow of a cold breeze into my ears, I looked at the sparkling streetlights. The roads were empty, apart from the occasional intrusion of other vehicles.
We crossed through the petrol bunks, shops, and many other shops. We stopped at a signal due to the red light. I saw some people waiting for the RTC buses to arrive so that they could board. There was no impatience in their faces, apart from the day’s weariness. Some are talking to their loved ones, updating them that they are waiting, on the way, or don’t wait for them for dinner.
What a hectic life we humans have!
We give up so much to have a home that lacks nothing.
What a life that makes us run around it in a twisted way without letting us know what we are actually running for!
After the signal turned green, we went ahead. I saw a drunk man sleeping on the road unconsciously. I didn’t feel pity for him at that moment. Maybe I am cold. But… he should have known better. Rather than drinking and lying on the road at ten in the night, he should be with his family and children. Humans could be pathetic too. This drunk was one of them.
With that little judgment in my head, I went ahead. Amma was already waiting for us at the gate, hoping for our return.
And… as usual, it’s the family dinnertime and time for a good night’s sleep. Adios! Let’s meet in the next blog!
