Author: Preeti Shenoy
Review: This book starts with the FL, Ankita, hating to get inside a mental psychiatric hospital. From both the shoes of the author and the reader, it’s a hook. That chapter didn’t let me put down this book.
In the beginning, the author shows the innocence of the love between Ankita and Vaibhav and their struggles to talk to each other due to their long-distance relationship. There are instances where ppl misunderstand affection as love. It’s portrayed clearly through Vaibhav and Ankita’s relationship.
When Ankita chose her MBA, her goals over Abhi, her love. She cruelly lost her love, leading her into depression, which gradually worsened and made her crazy. Due to her situation, she was in her peak period and was the best at everything. When she got down from her peak period and hit rock bottom, life was nothing but dark. The author clearly showed the real struggle of a person who faces psychological problems. It’s like one can actually see the struggle. For instance, Ankita, who is the top student at the university, can’t even remember exactly two words for a minute.
From there, Ankita’s struggle to get back her courage, do what she is good at, and accept reality, along with gathering the courage to get treatment, is beautifully portrayed. Also, the author is amazing at weaving words, which makes you fall in love with them.
Will I read this book again? No. I agree that this is a great book. But it’s a bit depressing to go back and read it again.
And who needs to read it? If you are facing hardship and are not daring to take a step ahead to move forward… then this is for you.
In the end, this book has covered most of the hidden topics that we ignore. Like misunderstanding affection for love. Life doesn’t stop by losing someone. Life becomes what you make it. Ankita chooses courage to move forward to become normal. The title actually delivers what the author promised.
In a single line, this book can be summarized as “Keep exploring what you want to do. You will get them in the end.”
My Rating: 8.5/10
