Author: William Shakespeare
It’s a story about two sets of twins who were lost. They find each other in different circumstances but can’t recognize them. In the end, when everything is cleared, it will be a happy ending.
Since it’s a play… the whole story was told in dialogue.
I just can’t rate this book, as this is not my style. However, I am fascinated that a story can be told through dialogue with no third-person narration or description.
Well, even so, I will not read this one again, as these are in old English. Even if it’s in normal English… it’s just that script-type stories or play-type stories are not my thing.
Btw, based on this book, a Kannada director, N.S. Shankar, made a movie called ULTA PALTA in 1997, starring Ramesh Aravind and Kashi. In 1998, this was remade into Telugu with the same title as the actors Rajendra Prasad and Babu Mohan. 95% of the movie resembles the story. It’s just the change of world setting. Coincidentally, I watched the movie a few months ago before reading this book.
If you are not into play-type stories, yet still want to watch this one… just watch the movie Ulta Palta.
